Singapore-based container liner Ocean Network Express, or ONE, announced a new direct service connecting ports of Vladivostok and Vostochny in Far East Russia with Busan in South Korea, according to a company statement late Aug. 26.
The first sailing on the route is expected to take place from Busan on Sept. 14.
The Korea Russia Express service rotation will include Busan-Vladivostok-Vostochny-Busan.
ONE, a container shipping joint venture between Japanese carriers NYW, MOL, and "K" Line, is a member of THE Alliance -- one of the three major ocean alliances.
Busan port is the world’s second largest port in terms of transshipment throughput. The port handled 21.95 million twenty-foot equivalent units of container volumes in 2019, of which 11.62 million TEU, or 53%, was transshipment containers, according to the Busan Port Authority.
